Discover our Eco Cleaning Products

Updated: May 26, 2020

We at Bambu like to use 100% non-toxic cleaning products such as Method, Ecover, and well know supermarkets own brand cleaning products. Alongside more traditional cleaning methods - Discover some of our tried and testing Eco Cleaning products.

Citric Acid We use a lot of citric acid . Citric acid is a weak organic acid found in citrus fruits. It is a natural preservative and is also used to add an acidic (sour) taste to foods and soft drinks. It occurs in the metabolism of almost all living things. Because citric acid kills bacteria, mould and mildew, its great for general disinfecting and cleaning. Its also effective at removing soap scum, hard water stains, calcium deposits, limescale and rust. Citric acid is great at cleaning loos and is a great alternative to bleach.

White vinegar

Your Grandma used it and so did her Grandma. Now its time for you to discover one of the most effective cleaning staples around, Vinegar.

From showerheads to soapy heads, copper to microwaves, vinegar(especially distilled white vinegar) is a versatile, environmentally safe alternative and its inexpensive too. We use it mostly to clean glass and to buff up chrome surfaces. It can also be used to prevent soap scum buildup on shower screens.

Bicarbonate of Soda

It's extremely versatile and can be used as a mild abrasive, scouring agent and deodoriser to dissolve dirt, tackle odors and cut through grime. It can be used in place of cream cleaner. Using a sprinkle of bicarbonate of soda on a sponge to clean any surface you would usually use a cream cleaner on. It will work just as well to remove dirt and grime. It won't leave you with that harsh chemical smell either.

We agree that sometimes these products can cost a bit more than the regular cleaning chemicals do, but if we think of the benefits that come with it such as protecting the environment and your health we think it’s the best choice.
